Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Tax Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for a tax professional with solid practical experience in income tax compliance, SARS submissions, and client engagement. The successful candidate will support tax processes end-to-end, ensure accurate submissions, and provide efficient administrative and client service support within a structured in-office environment.
Key Performance Areas:
Preparation and submission of income tax and provisional tax returns via eFiling
Performing accurate calculations relating to income tax and provisional tax
Assisting with and supporting basic tax advisory queries (advantageous)
Managing client follow-ups and maintaining strong communication with SARS
Monitoring and resolving SARS-related queries and correspondence
Ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax-related submissions
Maintaining and updating tax records and client information systems
Providing administrative support related to tax processes and compliance
Assisting with general tax practice workflow and documentation management
Ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance requirements
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a tax-related role
Relevant qualification in Tax or a related field
Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling system
Experience with income tax and provisional tax submissions
Ability to perform tax-related calculations accurately
Strong client communication and follow-up skills
Experience liaising with SARS on behalf of clients
Strong administrative and organisational abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently in a structured office environment
Fluent in English & Afrikaans
Must be comfortable working in-office on a full-time basis
