Bookkeeper / Accountant (Client Services) – Johannesburg NEW

A dynamic client services environment is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to manage multiple client portfolios and support end-to-end accounting and compliance functions.

Key Performance Areas:

• Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple clients up to trial balance
• Prepare monthly management accounts (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions across client portfolios
• Process payroll, including payslips and statutory reporting
• Prepare and submit PAYE, UIF, SDL, and VAT returns to SARS
• Ensure compliance with South African tax legislation and accounting standards
• Liaise with clients for financial information, queries, and support
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
• Maintain accurate filing systems and data integrity across platforms
• Manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively

Requirements:

• Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years’ bookkeeping/accounting experience in a client services or accounting firm environment
• Experience processing accounts up to trial balance
• Ability to prepare monthly management accounts
• Payroll processing and statutory submissions experience
• Working knowledge of SARS eFiling (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL)
• Proficiency in accounting systems (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel)
• Strong understanding of VAT and payroll tax regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and strict deadlines
