Our client, a prominent consulting engineering firm, is looking for an experienced Contracts Engineer (PrEng) to play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running and act as the Employer’s Agent.
Key Performance Areas:
Administer construction contracts across infrastructure projects in accordance with industry standards.
Fulfill the formal duties and responsibilities of the Employer’s Agent on site and project levels.
Oversee contract compliance, variations, claims, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Monitor project delivery to ensure quality, timeline, and budgetary alignment.
Manage relationships and communications between clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Requirements:
ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng).
Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience.
Proven experience in administering construction contracts.
Demonstrated experience acting as the Employer’s Agent on infrastructure projects.
Ability to start ASAP.
Preferably resident in Cape Town.
Key Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of standard engineering contracts (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, NEC).
Strong contract administration and legal compliance expertise.
Project governance and dispute resolution.
Technical leadership and decision-making.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
