Our client, an established accounting firm based in George is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a client-focused environment and has a strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an accounting environment.
Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Experience with VAT and other statutory submissions.
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero, Sage or similar.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Key Performance Areas:
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for a portfolio of clients.
Capture and process financial transactions accurately.
Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
Prepare and submit VAT and other relevant statutory returns.
Assist with income tax and other tax-related submissions where required.
Liaise with clients regarding accounting and financial queries.
