A boutique investment firm in Cape Town is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its experienced team. The company manages equity and absolute return portfolios using a structured, research-driven process that blends fundamental and quantitative analysis. Their approach focuses on identifying market inefficiencies, valuing a wide range of opportunities, and constructing diversified portfolios designed to outperform benchmarks across different market conditions while maintaining strong risk-return balance.
Requirements:
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Qualified CA(SA)
3 + years of relevant experience, ideally in finance, consulting, or a fast-paced analytical environment.
Experience in valuation and financial modelling.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with high analytical capability.
Key Performance Areas:
Conduct financial due diligence, including financial modelling, company and industry analysis, and preparation of investment papers and reports.
Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, including detailed valuations, interpreting metrics, and reporting on financial and impact outcomes.
Assist in executing, managing, and reporting on investments, gaining exposure to the investment process, portfolio companies, scaling and exiting businesses, and fund management.
National and regional travel may be required, including attending industry events and courses.
This role provides hands-on exposure to investments, portfolio management, and financial analysis, offering an excellent opportunity for growth in a dynamic private equity environment.
