Payroll Manager – East Rand

Our client, a reputable accounting firm in Germiston, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee their payroll operations for multiple clients across South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team while ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage full payroll cycles for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Ensure adherence to SARS statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201/EMP501 submissions, and IRP5/IT3(a) certificates
• Ensure payroll practices comply with South African labour law and leave regulations
• Lead and manage payroll administrators and support staff, including workload allocation and coaching
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing guidance on payroll queries and compliance
• Drive process improvements, maintain payroll data integrity, and review reports for accuracy

Requirements:

• Minimum 5–8 years’ payroll experience, with 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Experience in payroll bureau or outsourced payroll environments advantageous
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation, SARS requirements, and labour law
• Excellent leadership, client service, problem-solving, and Excel/reporting skills
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
