Our client, a leading global engineering and project delivery organization, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Bryanston.
Key Performance Areas:
Coordinate mechanical engineering and design activities across multidisciplinary projects to ensure seamless integration.
Manage engineering scopes, deliverables, schedules, design interfaces, and budgets.
Support the development, preparation, and management of mechanical procurement packages.
Facilitate technical communication between engineering, procurement, project management, vendors, and site teams.
Oversee engineering changes, manage risks, and resolve technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
Participate in design reviews, vendor document reviews, and project handover processes to maintain quality and compliance.
Requirements:
BSc, BEng, BTech, or equivalent (NQF Level 7) in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional registration with a recognized engineering institution (ECSA).
5–10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining and infrastructure projects.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working on process plant and infrastructure projects.
Practical experience in hydrometallurgical and/or chemical plant projects
Deep understanding of engineering coordination, procurement, construction support, and project delivery.
Experience in hydrometallurgical or chemical plant process interfaces.
Operational experience within mining, processing, or hydrometallurgical plants (Advantageous).
GCC Mines & Works certification (Advantageous).
SAIMechE membership (Advantageous).
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Engineering Calculation Tools (e.g., Pipe-Flo, CAESAR II, or equivalent hydraulic/piping packages).
