Key Performance Areas:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with traumatic and emergency conditions.
Conduct patient assessments and prioritise care according to clinical urgency.
Provide immediate and appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situations.
Monitor patients’ vital signs, condition, and response to treatment.
Assist doctors and multidisciplinary teams with trauma and emergency procedures.
Administer medication and treatments safely and according to prescribed orders.
Ensure accurate and complete patient documentation and clinical records.
Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patients’ conditions.
Assist with stabilisation and ongoing management of critically ill and injured patients.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
Ensure the safe use and maintenance of medical equipment within the Trauma Unit.
Participate in resuscitation and emergency response procedures when required.
Provide effective communication and support to patients and their families.
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
Maintain professional nursing standards and comply with SANC requirements.
Promote a safe, professional, and patient-centred environment.
Requirements:
Degree in Nursing (Essential).
Degree in Trauma & Emergency Nursing (Essential).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Trauma Nursing (Essential).
Previous experience working in a Trauma Unit (Essential).
SANC Registered (Essential).
