We are working with a well-established Audit and Accounting Firm with over 40 years of delivering high standards and exceptional client service. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client’s dynamic accounting team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and can work independently while maintaining excellent communication with clients and colleagues. This role is based in Bellville, Cape Town.
Key Performance Areas:
Perform monthly accounting services and financial reporting for a diverse client portfolio
Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
Draft annual financial statements in compliance with applicable standards
Conduct tax planning and provide related advisory services
Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, and individuals
Plan and manage workload to ensure timely reporting and submissions
Liaise effectively with clients and internal team members
Ensure all compliance deadlines are consistently met
Maintain clear, professional, and proactive communication with clients
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting and tax-related issues
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting
1–2 years’ experience in a similar professional environment
Proficiency in Xero (essential)
Working knowledge of CaseWare Working Papers
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and professional communication abilities
Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
