We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Compliance Officer to join our client’s growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of South African tax legislation who takes pride in delivering accurate work, maintaining compliance, and providing exceptional service to clients. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of tax matters while working closely with clients, colleagues, and SARS to ensure all compliance obligations are met efficiently and on time.
Key Performance Areas:
Manage the full income tax and provisional tax compliance process for a portfolio of clients.
Administer tax compliance for individuals, companies, trusts, and deceased estates.
Prepare and submit SARS registrations, deregistrations, tax directives, and debt arrangement applications.
Process Tax Compliance Status (TCS) Pin applications and Approval for International Transfer (AIT) applications.
Resolve SARS eFiling queries and maintain accurate taxpayer profiles.
Prepare, submit, and monitor SARS applications, objections, and supporting documentation.
Liaise with SARS to resolve client queries and compliance matters efficiently.
Maintain accurate client records and ensure tax portfolios remain compliant with legislative deadlines.
Provide professional tax compliance support to clients and internal team members.
Stay up to date with changes in South African tax legislation and SARS processes.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-3 years’ experience in a tax compliance environment.
Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and SARS eFiling.
Experience working with GreatSoft will be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
